omments from other Artist and Visitors!
Here are some testimonials from what others have to say about
Staselwood Bonsai and Jeff Carr...
I have had the pleasure of working a few times with the talented young Bonsai Artist, Jeff Carr from Ohio.
Jeff , has been studying Bonsai for a long time with local masters from Ohio and Georgia that have
since retired and Jeff takes great pleasure in working closely with visiting Bonsai Masters.
To further expand his knowledge base Jeff has attended workshops at conventions where he has
studied with some extremely fine artists. He can discuss the nitty 'gritty' of soil for different species to
the more complex work of bud development in different species of pines.
Jeff has recently started to teach and this path to becoming a better Bonsai Master is one that we all
have to take. However, in Jeff 's case it will be a short one as his classes are exciting and very
motivational. I was sufficiently impressed to include some of his work in my forthcoming fifth Bonsai
book, Bonsai Styling Techniques.
I’ve known Jeff Carr for about 3 years now and in those 3 years he’s taught me a ton about
Bonsai. I’ve always been interested in bonsai and had a few trees here and there, but never
really got into it like I wanted. After visiting Jeff’s greenhouse and seeing his collection of trees. It
inspired me to take the hobby/lifestyle of bonsai more seriously. Now a hundred or so trees
later here I am, Vice President of the local bonsai club. I’m also in the process of building my
own greenhouse, with Jeff’s help and guidance.
Jeff has to be one of the most dependable, reliable, hard-working, conscientious and honest
guys you’ll ever meet. He’s a good friend and teacher.

“How lucky I am to have Staselwood Bonsai only ten minutes away from my home…I’ve been
going to Jeff for almost a year now for all of my bonsai needs. He has everything I need,
supplies, trees, the knowledge, and the experience, and all at reasonable prices. His
Staselwood Bonsai Soil Mix is the best I have found for my trees in central Ohio.
Thanks Jeff!”
Jeff Carr and his colleague, Jason Treadway, spoke at our annual
Master Gardener Volunteer Recognition Dinner in 2006. His
enthusiasm for the art of bonsai is contagious and his
presentation gave a lot of good illustrations and answered many
questions. We have invited him back for a workshop in April of
2007 and plan to have a large attendance.
