A
Staselwood is owned and operated locally by Jeff and Heather Carr on their premises.  We
have over 25 years of combined experience and dedication to horticulture.  We started this
business to meet the local demand for soil, tools, and supplies.  We are also a source for
starter trees, pre-bonsai, tropicals, flowering bonsai and various species of collected
material.

Our primary goal is to promote a healthy understanding of the Art of Bonsai to new and
experienced bonsai artists alike.  We strive to provide these artists with a quality product at
a great price.

Staselwood Bonsai sifts, combines, and packages its own soil mix used in the central Ohio
area by several artists.  Dawes Arboretum currently purchases soil from us for their prized
collection.

Jeff and Heather would like to invite bonsai enthusiasts to visit us at our greenhouse.  We
are looking forward to helping you start or add to your private collection.

Artist Profile

Mr. Jeffery Carr has over 12 years experience
in the planning, creating, growing, and
finishing of bonsai.  Starting his career on the
South Eastern Georgia Coast, Jeff discovered
several natural styles like the windswept, Live
Oak, and the flat top.  He was guided early on
by Savannah artist Luigi Trappini.

After moving back home to the Central Ohio
area, a completely new outlook on natural
bonsai styles emerged.  Using nature as his
guide, as well as taking classes from several
different masters (Craig Coussins, Marco
Invernizzi), he combined these lessons and his
appreciation of the world around him makes
his final perception of Bonsai different from the
norm.

Staselwood Bonsai Studio
Staselwood Bonsai has provided several one
on one training sessions, group workshops,
and long-term ongoing classes.  Jeff has
provided demonstrations and lectures for
various garden and bonsai clubs in Georgia
and Ohio.

Staselwood Bonsai also provides collection
management service for busy customers with
existing collections.

In addition to providing all the daily
maintenance for the bonsai collection, she
also cares for Staselwood's collection of citrus
trees, brugmansia, and other tropical plants.
This has led her to expand the bonsai
collection into more tropical and flowering
trees.
